How to Locate a '95 Monte Carlo Heater Core

    • 1). Open the passenger's-side door on your '95 Monte Carlo. Pull the seat's release lever up and move the seat as far as it will go toward the rear of the car.

    • 2). Remove the passenger's-side floor mat, kneel in the door opening and locate the firewall beneath the dashboard. Just beneath the bottom of the glove box door, against the firewall will be a 2-by-1-foot black plastic rectangle, which covers the Monte Carlo's heater core.

    • 3). Remove the six bolts around the outer sides of the cover with a socket wrench. Remove the cover and place it, along with its bolts, on the car's back seat for safekeeping.

    • 4). Locate the Monte Carlo's heater core, which should be visible with the cover removed. The metal heater core resembles the car's radiator and is roughly the size of a box of cereal. The metal tab held in place by a single bolt at the front, bottom of the heater core holds the heater core in its housing. The heater core has two rubber hoses attached to its inlet and outlet tubes in the engine compartment.
