- 1). Remove the threshold already in place and use it as a template for the tile threshold that you're about to put down.
- 2). Use a flex grinder to sand one edge on each piece of tile that will become your threshold.
- 3). Use a mechanical saw to cut the tile into a strip with the length and width of the old threshold.
- 4). Sand the sharp edge of the newly cut tile and you have the pieces to make a new threshold.
- 5). Clear the dirt and debris from the ground where you want to lay the threshold pieces and apply mortar in a straight line where the threshold will go.
- 6). Press the threshold pieces on top of the mortar so that they are firmly connected to each other in a straight line and flush with the ground. Allow the mortar to dry overnight.
- 7). Clean up any excess mortar around the threshold the next day to finish the procedure.
