- 1). Place your computer or laptop in a location free of glare sources. These sources mainly include bright lights, overhead lights and windows. Placing blinds over windows and using a small desk lamp for paperwork may help reduce glare.
- 2). Adjust your computer screen's brightness and contrast to reduce glare and make it easier on your eyes. Many laptops have an option in which you can use less power, which darkens the screen.
- 3). Position your monitor's angle so no sources of light are directly hitting it. Typically a 90 degree angle is ideal for minimizing glare.
- 4). Purchase a glare filter. These can be lifesavers and are reasonably priced. They are available at most retail stores and should be considered mainly by people who use their computers for prolonged periods of time.
