Yumesamdong is located in the North Sikkim district of the Sikkim state of India. This place is just located at 15 kilometers from the district headquarters and has the altitudinal height of 15,300 ft from main sea level. This place is 26 kilometers far located from Yumthang. Normally 60 minutes drive from Yumthang takes a person to Yumesamdong. The lap of nature with the beautiful and mesmerizing places is another wonder on the land of Sikkim. Yumesamdong tourism has developed a lot in the recent past. This border located area is very attractive and has a number of scenic views. Hill areas are generally beautiful but if gifted with some ornaments like springs, streams and lakes, it is an additional make up by of the area by the nature. Yumesamdong has the natural appealing beauty and almost the points of attraction in this town having virgin beauty. It is strictly prohibited in this town to make liter on the picnic places. People are advised at every place to carry additional bags to take back the wrappers and empty cans and bottles. The lush greenery and dense forestry around the location is very attractive. The area is located on very high altitude and thus the snow cladding remain whole the year. Trekkers may have some difficulties in moving due to snow but the enthusiasm and adventure keeps them moving. Visitors should take proper precautionary measure against the cold as this is very snowy area. Tourists coming from the plain areas may have the altitude sickness if not properly medicated before having a trekking expedition in this area. Trekking stations are also located on very high altitude as Phuhun Ri is located at 7125 mtrs and Donkya Ri at 6190 meters.

How to reach

This place is located at 26 kilometers distance from Yumthang and only the jeeps available to reach Yumesamdong. Jeeps are available from Manang on reasonable rates. The roads are not too wide to allow the plying of buses. In this place no foreign tourist is allowed. Organized tour is only permitted here.

Rail service is available upto Jalpaiguri and from there road transportation is only the way to access Yumesamdong. A special permit is required to visit this area being very sensitive with regards to nation's security aspects. Visiting hours are fixed from morning 8:00 to evening 15:00 and after this timing no one is permitted as sunset is very early in this area. During snowfall, one must have the proper snow glasses and other gears to avoid any misshaping. Local guide will also be helpful in wandering.
