Now many people do not connect being their own worst enemy with being their own personal bully.
Yet, when we think about the results from those encounters, are they not the same? What is a bully?According to Webster, the word bully began from the old German word (buhle) for lover and then later influenced by the word bull or ox.
This is how the word became to mean someone who hurts or browbeats another.
Have you ever had thoughts such as:
- I cannot do that?
- Oh, that will not work?
- Why did I even think that I could do this or that?
Years ago, there were cartoons which showed a cartoon character having an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.
The devil was all of those thoughts telling you to do something that you knew to be wrong in order to have some short term personal satisfaction or gain.
The angel was your conscience telling you not to listen to the devil.
The bully within you is very much like that devil telling you stuff that is negative in nature and leading you truly down the path to failure and not up the road to success.
And, the angel is your own self confidence trying to fight that no good bully, but in many cases the bully wins because you allow him or her to win.
As long as you allow that bully to stay on your shoulders, you will never turn all of your potential into successful performance.
You will stay on the Island of Misery along with all those others and their bullies fearful of crossing the Seas of Uncertainty and Change.
The Island of Success and Opportunity will never feel the soles of your feet.
Take action right now.
Get rid of that bully on your shoulder and in your head.
You must believe in yourself for you do receive what you believe.
If you want to master success, then believe that you can master success.
As always, the choice is yours.
