How to Scan Slave Drives With Norton 360

    • 1). Plug one end of a USB cable into the USB output on the back of the external---or slave---hard drive. Plug the other end of the USB cable into a USB port on the PC. Wait for the icon of the drive to appear on the desktop.

    • 2). Click the "Start" button. Select the Norton 360 program from the "All Applications" pop-up menu.

    • 3). Click the "Settings" tab at the top of the program's main screen when it appears on the desktop.

    • 4). Check the box next to "Antivirus" beneath "Settings." Click the drop-down menu next to the checkbox in the pop-up window that appears.

    • 5). Select "Removable Media Scan" from the list of choices presented in the drop-down menu. Click the "Apply" button on the pop-up window to make it go away. Click the "Scan Now" button at the bottom of the window.
