- 1). Log in to your computer and open the Control Panel by clicking on the Start button. Select the Add/Remove Programs utility and wait for the window to load.
- 2). Find the entry (or in some cases, multiple entries) for the Norton Antivirus product that you have installed on your computer. Select the entry and press the Change/Remove button that will appear next to the program name. If there are multiple entries, you should remove them one at a time, restarting your computer after each removal.
- 3). Visit the link below for the Norton Removal Tool. Follow the directions on the website to download the version of the tool for your particular version of Norton Antivirus. Once the tool is downloaded, double click on the EXE file.
- 4). Follow the automated process that the Norton Removal Tool will start. This process may restart your computer once or twice, so be sure to close any active windows or programs before starting. Once the process is finished, you may delete the removal tool from your computer.
