Homemade Antennas for Wireless Internet

    • 1). Put a sheet of newspaper on a table. Stand the empty coffee can on the newspaper with the open end facing up

    • 2). Measure 2 inches up from the bottom of the coffee can. Drill a hole through the side of the coffee can at the 2-inch mark.

    • 3). Cut a 1-inch piece of the copper wire with the wire cutters.

    • 4). Solder one end of the copper wire into the center hole in the front end of the N connector. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 5). Insert the N connector, copper wire end first, through the hole in the side of the coffee can.

    • 6). Solder the N connector to the sides of the coffee can. Let the solder cool for a minute.

    • 7). Plug the male adapter on the pigtail male N connector onto the female back socket of the N connector.

    • 8). Screw a coaxial cable into the coaxial connector on the pigtail male N connector.

    • 9). Screw the other end of the coaxial cable into the external antenna's coaxial connection on the wireless devices that will be using the homemade WiFi antenna to access the Internet through the wireless network. Aim the coffee can that is now a homemade WiFi antenna in the direction of the wireless transmitter being used in your wireless home network.
