How to Scan & Email a Document Using an HP Scan Jet 5470C

    • 1). Turn on both your computer and scanner. Locate and open the "HP Scanjet Utilities" application.

    • 2). Click on the tab labeled "E-mail." Select your email application from among the options listed under "Destination." Configure the quality, size and other settings as desired. Save your changes and exit the "HP Scanjet Utilities" application.

    • 3). Lift the scanner cover and place your document face-down on the glass. Lower the scanner cover.

    • 4). Press the email button on your scanner (it is labeled with a picture of a flying envelope). The scanner will scan your document, open your email application, open a new message and attach your scanned image to it.

    • 5). Review the email window on your computer. Enter your recipient's email address, an email title and any desired message text in the appropriate fields. You may now email your scanned document.
