Instructions
1Telephone immediate family members to prevent hurt feelings for not being included in the ceremony. As another option, do a partial elopement, inviting parents and siblings to the ceremony, but announce the marriage to other family and friends.
2
Contact a printing company or make your own wedding announcements. Select wording that portrays your attitude and excitement in sharing your life together. One example from Inviting Smiles is "Time moves quickly and so does life. We were so eager to be husband and wife. Our days were filled, our schedules too. So we ran off and said our I do's!" Include a ceremony picture with the paper announcement.
3
Plan and execute a small, at-home barbecue to announce your nuptials. Family and close friends get together to celebrate your wedding. Show a video of the marriage and set up a table with pictures from the elopement.
4
Place a picture and small excerpt in the local newspaper to announce your marriage to the public. Include a picture from the ceremony or a recent image as well as write a brief paragraph explaining where the marriage took place and when.
5
Renew your vows before all family and friends in a more traditional ceremony and reception as another option to announce the marriage.
