- 1). Click the "Start" button, then click "Programs."
- 2). Click "Accessories," then select "Notepad." The Notepad application will open with a blank text page.
- 3). Type the full path to each song on a separate line in the test file. For example, if Songs One, Two and Three are located in a directory off the C: drive named "Music," the list would be:
C:/Music/Song1.wav
C:/Music/Song2.wav
C:/Music/Song3.wav - 4). Click "File," then click "Save." Save the text file with the extension of "m3u" if the playlist refers to WAV, MP3, and MPEG file types. Save the text file with the extension of "ASX" if the playlist refers to files of the type ASX.
Example:
"Playlist1.m3u" - 5). Double-click the playlist file. Windows Media Player will open, and begin to play the first song in the playlist.
