When we see a cockroach scurrying quite happily along the kitchen or bathroom floor the first reaction for many of us it to yelp with fear and then send a crushing blow to the beast from the bottom of our foot or a rolled up copy of Home & Garden magazine! Live Roach Becomes Dead Roach.
But this may not be the most effective way of killing the roach and could theoretically lead to more roaches.
Some cockroaches, in particular the German Cockroach, are know to carry their egg sacks with them.
So the simple act of killing with force could actually distribute the egg all over your floor and under furniture.
Shortly after you could have another 30 or so critters that hatched right under your nose..

Not good! This is why I advise that you employ other methods to slay these miniature dragons.
The first way is the easiest and probably the quickest.
Most supermarkets sell bug sprays from a startling array of brands.
Pretty much any brand (RAID is good) or cockroach killing spray, or winged insect spray will be suitable.
Keep the spray to hand and when you see a roach simply whip out the spray and in short bursts send the creature back to the lagoon.
Keep spraying in bursts until it is lifeless and then wait a few minutes to make sure it does not miraculously come back to life! The second method is more natural and green but could take a few more minutes.
Simply fill up a spray bottle with soapy water.
Then when you see a roach start spraying it until it appears dead.
Wait a few moments and spray again.
This method apparently clogs the pores of the insects stopping it from breathing which, as we all know, leads to death.
If you happen to be doing the washing up when you see one you could throw the bowl of water over it! However this may lead to cleaning up broken plates and a small flood problem, but at least the roach will be dead!
