- 1). Look at the power cord if the Kenmore refrigerator is not turned on or functioning. Plug the cord firmly into a working electrical outlet. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse as needed. Turn the cooling system to "On."
- 2). Open the doors less often if the compressor seems to run constantly or the interior temperature seems too warm for the temperature set point. Make sure items are not blocking the doors from closing fully. Wipe down the gasket on the door with a clean, damp cloth.
- 3). Set the temperature control to a warmer temperature if the interior temperature is too cold or items are too frozen. Let the refrigerator adjust for up to 24 hours before reaching the desired temperature. Set the control to a colder temperature if the interior temperature is too warm.
- 4). Slide the temperature control on the drawer if items inside specific drawers, such as the deli drawer, freeze.
- 5). Turn the humidity control to a lower setting on crisper drawers if moisture collects inside the drawer. Dry vegetable and fruit items prior to placing them in the drawer.
- 6). Turn the ice maker power control to "On" if there is no ice. Wait up to 24 hours after installation for ice to start production, but discard the first several batches of ice before consuming.
- 7). Clean the water and ice dispenser with a damp cloth if ice or water is not dispensed. Push and hold "Lock" to release the child lock, and let go after three seconds. Look to see if an ice cube is blocking the ice chute and remove it with a plastic utensil. If the chute is not clogged but no ice is dispensed, remove the ice bin and empty. Wipe down the auger with a dry cloth and restore the bin.
- 8). Cover items in the freezer and refrigerator if the ice or interior of the unit begins to smell. Use a combination of baking soda and water to clean the surfaces of the refrigerator or freezer and empty out the ice. Clean the bin and restore in the freezer.
