Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Turn the fireplace on using the remote, wall switch or thermostat. When you press the "On" button or turn up the thermostat, you should hear clicking. This signals that the ignition is attempting to light the burners.
2
Open the circuit breaker box and locate the circuits for the fireplace. If the breaker is off, the ignition system is not getting electricity. In some cases, the ignition runs off a battery that needs replacing.
3
Light the pilot light. Not all electronic ignition systems have a standing pilot light, but if your Superior fireplace does, the light could be out.
4
Increase the gas flow going to the fireplace. The ignitor could be functioning, but the unit is not getting fuel. Locate the valve on your fireplace and turn it clockwise.
5
Tighten the thermocouple near the burner. Look for a metal piece with two wires on the top. This is the thermocouple, a safety device built into the system. Wait until the fireplace is cold, then grasp the thermocouple and turn it clockwise to ensure it is stable.
