• Super Smash Brothers Melee was the second in the series of Smash Brothers games created by Nintendo. Melee was released for the Nintendo GameCube system in December of 2001. It is a fighting game featuring various characters from other video games, and players can choose to try single player and multiplayer versions of the action. Multiple options exist for Super Smash Brothers Melee that will allow players to gain all of the features the game has to offer.
  
  

Stages

• Finishing the All-Star single-player mode will unveil the Battlefield stage, while playing a minimum of 150 matches without stopping in "Vs." mode will earn the Big Blue stage. The Brinstar Depths stage is unlocked after playing 50 matches in "Vs." mode, and the Dream Land Past Stage is received once a player beats the Target Test with each character.
  
  The Final Destination shows up after finishing all 51 Event matches, and The Flat Zone stage is earned after beating the single-player Classic mode as Mr. Game & Watch. To get the Fourside stage, 100 matches in "Vs." mode must be played without quitting. The Kongo Jungle N64 stage appears after finishing the 15 Minute Melee, and the Poke Floats Stage requires players to play 200 matches in "Vs." mode and not stop.
  
  

Random

• Random Stage is a feature that lets Melee players fight in a randomly chosen stage rather than directly picking one. To earn the Random Stage feature, players must first earn every stage in the game except for Battlefield, Final Destination, Dream Land N64, Yoshi's Island N64 and Kongo Jungle N64.
  
  

Mode

• Once every character in the game has been discovered, All-Star mode, which presents a higher level of difficulty, will be earned.
  
  

Events

• Melee features hidden events that can only be earned by unlocking them. After getting Luigi, Falco and Young Link, players must defeat Trophy Tussle 2 to get events 30 to 39. Events 40 to 50 appear once every character in the game is unlocked. Event 51 is called The Showdown and will only be available once the first 50 events have been finished.
  
  

Score

• After getting 5,000 KOs, a score display will show up during matches instead of just after them. This feature lets players have a better idea of what moves they need to do in order to win.
  
  

Sound Test

• Once all the stages and characters are unlocked and each of the 51 events is finished, the Sound Test can be accessed. The Sound Test lets players control what music plays during each stage.
