People nowadays suffer from various sleeping disorders.
Studies show that the increasing amount of technological advances may play an important factor.
Everything moves way too fast that most people cannot keep up.
Other factors include obesity, psychological trauma, and stress among others.
Sleeping problems range from having too much sleep or lack thereof.
Needless to say, people who have trouble sleeping may suffer dire consequences to their health if they do not do something about it immediately.
Research shows that there are approximately nineteen disorders of sleep that people experience.
The most common is insomnia and sleep apnea to name a few.
However, most researchers consider micro naps, narcolepsy, and somnambulism to be the most dangerous.
• Micro naps - Micro naps occur if a person is deprived of sleep.
Most people nowadays lack the substantial hours of sleep that the body needs.
But beware, too much of sleep deprivation might cause you to micro nap, or the body's way of coping up with the lack of sleep.
The brain automatically shuts down and the person does not even notice it.
Micro naps may stretch from a fraction of a second (hence the name) to more than a minute.
The dangerous thing about this is the fact that micro naps occur anytime and anywhere.
Collapsing in public and endangering oneself is a total possibility.
• Narcolepsy - Narcolepsy is similar to micro naps.
The only difference is that narcoleptic people sleep longer.
Oftentimes, narcoleptics fall asleep at odd times.
When they wake up, they get confused and groggy.
They have no memory of the time that elapsed while they were asleep.
This is scarier than micro naps.
Narcoleptics should not, in any way, be allowed to handle machineries of any kind to avoid harming themselves.
• Somnambulism or sleep-walking - This is also a common sleeping disorder.
Unlike the previous two that is closely linked to sleep deprivation as its main cause, sleep walking is said to be caused by a delay in the maturation of a person.
It is hereditary but might not appear instantaneously.
However, sleep-walking can also be triggered by fatigue and once again, sleep deprivation.
The duration of sleep-walking varies; it may last from one minute to 30 minutes.
Some people underestimate the perils of sleep-walking.
But it is equally dangerous to micro naps and narcolepsy.
A somnambulist or sleep-walker confuses the dream and reality, therefore he or she is often confused after a spell.
It is a fact that time moves so fast.
Most people, especially those in industrialized areas, barely have time to get some sleep.
Yet, the body needs it.
It is important for the body to function well.
If one suffers from sleeping problems, there are available natural sleep remedies.
But it is also important to consult a doctor first for proper treatment.
