Writing a Newspaper Article - The Don"ts of News Article Writing

You have probably seen a lot of articles telling you what exactly you need to do to create great news articles.
In this one, I wish to point out the things that you need to avoid at all cost.
These are the following: 1.
Don't write something uninteresting.
This is probably the worst thing that you can do when writing for a newspaper.
If you don't want your articles to be rejected by your publishers, make sure that you always write something that is newsworthy and those that will capture your readers' attention.
Remember, your editors will not waste precious space for something that other people will not bother to read.
2.
Don't use lousy headlines.
Your article will compete for the attention of your audience against other articles that were written by other writers.
To emerge triumphant, ensure that you make a good impression early on - by using catchy headlines.
Your headlines will help you attract people to read your articles.
They must be expertly written, intriguing, and attention-grabbing.
3.
Don't lie.
If you can't stick with the truth, journalism is not for you.
The last thing that you would like to do is to feed your readers with unverified information and later on, ruin your reputation.
Be very responsible; check all your data before you include them in your articles and make sure that you do not resort to blatant lies just to create noise.
4.
Don't submit your articles without proofreading them.
Your editors are receiving hundreds of articles on a daily basis.
They surely don't have the time nor the patience to check your articles word for word.
Make their jobs a bit easier by making sure that your articles are flawless before you hand them over.
