Living a life filled with anxiety is no joke.
Not knowing when you will have an attack or living in constant fear can make life difficult.
Actually, you are lucky if this is all that happens.
For many others out there with severe anxiety disorders life becomes unbearable and they can no longer go on leading a normal existence.
Often time people who are dealing with anxiety will find themselves too scared to get out of their homes or take jobs and do anything that normal people would.
Another thing that can be observed with people who suffer from severe anxiety disorders is deep depression.
More often than not you will find that people who have these things will have thoughts about taking their own lives or suicide.
This is something which should never be taken lightly; if left unaddressed a person may eventually try to find a way to end their life just because of the severe anxiety that they may be feeling.
There are certain symptoms that can be associated with severe anxiety disorders.
One of the most common and prominent of which is panic.
A racing heart, extreme perspiration, dizziness and a feeling of tremendous fear are usually felt during this time.
An episode such as this or similar to this may also be known as a panic attack.
It can be quite common for a number of anxiety disorders to have this symptom every now and then; but for severe anxiety disorders panic attacks come more frequently sometimes even one after the other.
Another symptom that can also be associated with such a disorder is worry.
While worrying is a normal everyday experience for a lot of us, those with severe panic disorders take it to a different level.
Instead of just simply worrying about something and letting it pass, they actually let it control them.
It can be normal for them to experience negative thoughts linked to what they are worrying about.
For example having a loved one late for a meeting can already make them worry about this person abandoning them or being involved in an accident.
More often than not these worries can aggravate panic attacks and can help make calming down much more difficult.
Phobias are another symptom of having severe anxiety disorders.
It is true that many of us have some things that we are scared of.
However for those people with phobias their fear is so intense that they may not even be able to stand the thinking about what it is that they fear.
The most common phobia associated with this condition is those that have to do with social fears.
A sufferer may feel that he or she is constantly being observed and may worry about having a panic attack in public.
A fear such as this can drive people to stay in their homes and completely avoid interacting with others.
Other than these obsessive compulsive behaviors may also be observed among people who have severe anxiety disorders.
They may feel that by taking control of the things that are around them, they can also take control of what happens and how they feel.
They often resort to actions which they believe will help ease the anxiety that they are going through.
Repeated actions, rituals and patterned dealings are all common for people with this symptom.
At some point they may be aware of the fact that what they are doing does not actually help but they cannot stop themselves from doing it nonetheless.
Of course other than these main symptoms there may also be others which can be experienced or observed.
The most important thing about this is not just being able to determine whether or not you have a severe anxiety disorder, but actually dealing with it or getting help.
It is not something that has to be a constant part of your life.
There are a number of treatments and approaches that can be used to help make sure that you no longer become a prisoner to this.
