This final stage of Leadership Development is one where the Leader has a sense of purpose and meaning for their role within the organization and their life as a whole. They have a sense of corporate and individual responsibility because they see that everything is connected and that each individual has a responsibility to the whole. They have a way of being that others find attractive and people will naturally follow this Leader even if they are not in a Senior Leadership role. They are powerful influencers, well liked but perhaps feared by Leaders that are not so highly developed. They are inspirational to others who will unconsciously start to copy the way this Leader does things, in doing so, this Leader can improve the entire culture of the area of the organization that they lead.
€ Their mantra is €who am I? Am I walking my talk?' €What is my purpose?' €Am I still energized by what I'm doing/on my right path in life?'.
€ They have a Whole System Mindset i.e. their focus covers not just coaching/mentoring their own team, but also smoothing the way for their team through influencing others within the organization and potentially seeing how a radical change across a wider area could improve the company as a whole.
€ They also have a Positive Mindset i.e. their general views of the world, other people and themselves is positive. They have compassion for people and see their potential, they believe their team/company will succeed.
€ They have the €big picture' view because they see the entire system and how it is connected. They see themselves, their team, how their team interacts with other teams, the company and how the company is acting in the world and its effects.
€ This Leader is highly consciously aware, this means that they understand that our thoughts create reality and are very aware of their own thoughts. They understand that emotions are €contagious' so they are well practiced in bringing themselves back to a calm state. They view their bodies as feedback systems, so also hear the message their body is signaling to them and act on this. This helps them make extremely good decisions. They understand the universal laws of attraction and use this to attract new business/people/opportunities.
€ They feel passionate about change for the greater good. They feel energized by results they can achieve as well as empowered to make a difference. Because they have a Positive Mindset, they can face huge challenges and stay centered and calm throughout.
€ They will attract people who want to work for them and with them. If this Leader is in a client facing role, they will attract clients automatically rather than having to €work' to gain new clients. If this Leader is an entrepreneur or CEO they will lead the company to success. The smaller the company the quicker the shift, but eventually all CEOs in this Stage of Leadership Development will create highly successful organisations.
Progressing Through The Stages:
For those stuck in Stage 1, it may be impossible for you to imagine being a Leader in Stage 3. Even the description may be hard to comprehend and often Leaders in Stage 1 may say things like €Stage 3 is just dream world, its not possible' or €the commercial world doesn't need Inspirational Leaders, they are just do-gooders or world peacemakers'. Another common reaction is often derision of, or irritation with, the concept of Stage 3. That's fine because you cannot become an Inspirational Leader without first becoming a Strategic Leader and Strategic Leaders will eventually aspire to become Inspirational Leaders.
Leadership and Management Coaching:
Whatever industry you are in, if you lead others, then the single most impactful development tool you can use will be Leadership and Management Coaching. If the CEO and his/her team commit to developing themselves as Leaders through to Stage 3, then everything they do and say from this place of Inspirational Leadership will create a powerful high performance culture within their organization an a powerful €buzz' within the market place. This will inevitably lead to higher actual production by engaged, energized staff and an attraction of an abundance of clients towards the company.
