- 1). Shampoo hair or wet with a spray bottle.
- 2). Towel dry the hair so it is not dripping wet but still damp.
- 3). Part the hair on the right or left side. It should not be parted down the middle.
- 4). Make additional parts in the hair---one on each side. The new parts should be perpendicular to the first part and should end up behind each ear.
- 5). Tie each piece so that the hair doesn't stray. Essentially, you should end up with three ponytails---one on each side and one in the back.
- 6). Untie one of the side parts and then part that side into three smaller parts. The other two ponytails should stay in place.
- 7). Twist the first portion of the three new parts, which is the portion closest to the face, from the top and twist down. Pin the piece of hair against the head with a bobby pin.
- 8). Twist the other two portions and secure those pieces with bobby pins.
- 9). Undo the ponytail in the back of the head and then part the hair to make two pigtails.
- 10
Pull the hair in the back into a pigtail, combing out any bumps. Do not secure it. - 11
Unpin the three twists and bring them into the pigtail, securing them and the pigtail with a band. - 12
Make a bun from the pigtail by twisting the end. - 13
Fasten the bun with bobby pins. - 14
Repeat the process on the other side of the head.
