Endometrial Hyperplasia What are the Risks?

Almost all diseases have there etiological factors for occurring. Bodily disorders do not usually occur without reasons, although there are disorders that are considered idiopathic or having an unknown cause. The knowledge about the etiological pattern or the main cause helps the medical professionals in determining the proper intervention in order to treat the condition. Etiologies are usually determined during the assessment phase wherein information is elicited from the client. This information provides better means of study and prevention especially for the public.

Like almost all diseases, the disorder called Endometrial hyperplasia also has its own risk factors that need to be determined. Endometrial hyperplasia is primarily caused by the hormonal imbalance occurring in the body. The normal uterine activity is monitored by two different hormones, which are estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen is a growth-stimulating hormone that stimulates the endometrial lining for the facilitation of its thickening. Progesterone regulates the cellular proliferation. It counter acts the growth enhancing effect of Estrogen in order to prevent various complications. If conception does not occur, the endometrial lining sheds up in a form of menstruation. All of these activities are maintained and regulated by proper hormonal activity. However, there are conditions wherein these hormones fail their appropriate function. In the case of Endometrial Hyperplasia, Progesterone levels drop causing impairment in the cellular proliferation of the endometrium. The cell proliferates exponentially due to the presence of estrogen and absence of progesterone. The thickening of the endometrium becomes worse and this sometimes leads to different complications such as uterine cancer.

The Endometrial Hyperplasia contains risk factors that serve as its etiology. Menopause is one contributing factor that believes to influence hormonal activity in the uterine cavity. During the occurrence of menopause, especially the gradual progression, an alteration great occurs in hormonal activity. This compromises the integrity of endometrial lining that sometimes cause abnormality in the cells normal physiology. This is believed to be because of the extreme cellular environmental conditions due to the hormonal changes occurring. Irregular periods or absent menstruations are also a triggering factor. The cell continues to proliferate but the body is deprived from the capacity to expel the excess endometrial lining. The hormones greatly influence the utrine activity. These growth enhancers produce possibility for cellular mutation. The increase of growth factors alters the genetic component of the cells and possible in causing atypia or cellular abnormality. This factor usually leads to uterine cancer. Researchers believe that certain disorders such as Diabetes and other pathological conditions affects the occurrence of these disorder but studies are not yet sufficient in order to prove such claims.

Prevention is obtained if the public have the adequate understanding about the risks of Endometrium Hyperplasia. If we have the knowledge about the etiological reasons why all these things are happening then it is easy for us to plan in order to negate these risk factors. Prevention is the best treatment in any disease and early diagnosis saves life more than the actual treatment.
