According to the North Dakota Geologic Survey, the Badlands National Park and surrounding areas are "easily North Dakota's best known geologic feature." The area is traveled worldwide by geologists for its fossils that date back to the dinosaur age. Located in the exact center of the continent of North America, the Badlands offers several different local accommodations for visitors as well as restaurants and other things to do. For many, a visit to the Badlands wouldn't be complete unless they traveled there in their own RV. As this is a popular mode of travel, the Badlands offers RV parks that allow guests to park overnight or for an extended period of time. - The Beulah Bay Campground, located about 18 miles from the Beulah, North Dakota Badlands area on the Sakawea, is home to the Dakota Walleye Fishing Tournament. There is also a fish cleaning station, volleyball courts, Bocce ball, croquet, on-site caretaker, bathhouses and restrooms. Beulah Bay offers not only RV accommodations, but three cabins accommodating five to seven guests, many different types of electrical sites and primitive camping (with just a tent).
