How to Copy DVDs on a Mac

    • 1). Place the DVD that you wish to copy into your Mac's Superdrive. Click the Finder icon on the dock. When the Finder window opens, click the Applications folder.

    • 2). Open the Utilities folder. Double-click to open the Disk Utility application. Click the name of the DVD that you wish to copy from the disk listing section on the left side of the window.

    • 3). Click File and choose New from the drop-down menu. Choose Disk Image from (your DVD's name). In the Convert Image window, type a name for your disk and then choose DVD/CD Master from the Format menu.

    • 4). Click Save and the disk image will be created. After the image is completed, you will see its name in the disk listing section. Eject the original disk from the Superdrive.

    • 5). Click the Burn button at the top of the Disk Utility window. Insert a blank DVD into the Superdrive when prompted. When the burn is completed, your new DVD copy is ready to be played in the device of your choice.
