A childhood anxiety disorder is unfortunately a reality which many parents have to handle when it comes to caring for their children.
Due to the various stresses which have crept in to the lives of our children, many of them have started displaying various symptoms of anxiety disorder.
When childhood anxiety disorder starts to take a hold of your child's life, some of the first tell tale signs may be thing such as the child displaying intense fear of certain situations, constant worrying over what would seem to be trivial matters and a general uneasiness in various situations.
The sad part of it is that if we as parents fail to pick up on these early warning signs or symptoms of childhood anxiety disorder the results could be very devastating as they may include repeated school absences, low self image, bad peer relationships and violent outbursts, alcohol and drug dependency, lack of communication abilities and unfortunately in very severe cases when coupled with depression it could lead to suicide.
Due to the fact that a youngster is already in a very vulnerable state because they are totally dependent on you as the parent for support and this becomes even worse when they are in the teenage years and the hormones are taking over, to be faced with this kind of anxiety can be a very threatening or scary place to be.
As with most anxiety disorders the sufferer is often not prone to talk about these feelings due to fear of ridicule or being judged.
This leads them to keep all these harmful emotions bottled up inside and that is simply a recipe for disaster.
So the answer to the question 'what is a childhood anxiety disorder' is a very relevant and important one to any parent.
The answer is, it is a very real fear which your child may be experiencing in their mind but is to afraid to talk about.
This is the reason why it is the responsibility of every parent to try and be aware of what is going on in your child's mind should any of the above changes become apparent in their lives for no apparent reason.
Remember, handling these childhood anxiety orders correctly in the early stages may spare your child from having to suffer from them their entire life.
