- 1). Contact the inmate for a list of needed and wanted items. Food and snacks, personal hygiene products, clothing and even some small electronics are all on the list of items that can be sent.
- 2). Locate the company you wish to use to send your inmate package. The facility will have a list of accepted companies you can choose from. A phone order can be placed, or the order can be done online with a few mouse clicks. Packages can be custom-made, or the company may have preselected packages. The company will also have facility-specific packages that adhere to the rules of the particular facility to avoid package rejection.
- 3). Place your order, checking to be sure the date is within the facility's accepted time frame. Many allow only one package per calender quarter, so dates are important in the ordering process. Keep your order confirmation and tracking number.
- 4). Check with your inmate to be sure the package is received and all items were included and in good condition.
