- 1). Place newspaper on a flat surface outside or inside, in an area with good air ventilation.
- 2). Wrap a 3-inch section the stems on the silk roses, just below the bloom, with painter's tape. This protects the stems from the gold paint.
- 3). Cut the craft foam balls in half. Stick a rose in each half circle to use as a sturdy base.
- 4). Spray the outside of the rose petals with gold spray paint, until they are covered. Use short strokes with the spray paint to apply the paint evenly with no dripping.
- 5). Apply the gold paint to the inside petals of the roses. Use the same short strokes or sprays to apply the paint evenly.
- 6). Remove the painter's tape from the stems, once the roses have dried. Let them dry at least two hours before you handle them or touch the petals.
