Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Decorate cakes and hang banners with praying children, crosses or chalices. As the name implies, First Communion is a milestone in the life of a Roman Catholic child. Images of children in First Communion garb or praying are appropriate because they celebrate the first sacrament of a practicing Catholic's life. Crosses are popular options because of their religious significance. Chalices are the items that hold the communion wafers that are transformed during transubstantiation, which also makes them another popular choice.
2
Decide on a color theme. White is the color of purity, and a very popular choice for First Communion dresses for girls and suits for boys. Another option is pink and blue, colors signifying girls and boys respectively.
3
Find table cloths, ribbons, streamers, balloons, candles and flowers to match the selected theme. All of the previously mentioned items need not be present since the party is a supplement to the celebration of the sacrament. A big party should not be the focus or highlight of the day.
