- Heavenly Ski Resort is located near Lake Tahoe and features terrain along the California-Nevada border. Heavenly Ski Resort accommodates experienced and beginner-level skiers. Take a private lesson one-on-one with an instructor or a private group lesson with your family. Heavenly also offers adult group lessons for beginners and a children's ski school which offers lift access, rental equipments, helmets and lunch during a full day of instruction. Heavenly offers adaptive ski instruction for disabled skiers.
- Alpine Meadows is located six miles northwest of Tahoe City, California and features 13 chair lifts, 100 designated runs and the Shreadows Terrain Park. Alpine Meadows features a children's ski school for children ages 3 to 12; parents can choose half day or full day lessons that include a lift ticket, equipment rental, helmet and GPS.
Adult programs include half day, full day or three day learn-to-ski programs for skiers ages 13 and up. - Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort has 2,000 acres of skiing with 10 chair lifts. Sierra-at-Tahoe has developed a state-of-the-art beginner's terrain featuring two dedicated beginner conveyor lifts along a gently banked terrain which allows skiers to gain confidence during their first lessons.
The resort offers a Ski/Ride Guarantee for its beginner skiers which guarantees that beginner skiers will be able to ski a 2.5 mile beginner run after the third lesson or the fourth lesson is free. Beginner lessons are held on Wild Mountain, a section dedicated to teaching children to ski. - Diamond Peak's School House run is specifically designed for beginner skiers. Skiers can take lessons from a private instructor or in groups. Diamond Peak even offers beginner season passes that offer limited access to the resort.
The Bee Ferrato Child Ski Center offers lessons for children ages 3 to 7. Children's lessons are given in a separate learning area that includes a powerline lift. Children aged 4 to 7 are taught in groups with a one-to-five instructor-student ratio; children under 4 are given private lessons. - Mt. Rose is located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. The resort features eight chair lifts and 1,500 acres of skiing. Children ages 4 to 10 can participate in Mt. Rose's Rosebuds ski and snowboard camp; lessons include a lift ticket, equipment rental and helmet. Skiers ages 11 and up can participate in the First Timers program which features lessons on the resorts beginner slopes and three beginner lifts.
