There are literally hundreds of millions of people who love skiing, snowboarding and all sorts of winter activities.
Skiing is by far the most popular winter sport of them all, being preferred by people of all ages, from all backgrounds: kids, teens, grown-ups and even the elderly.
Sure, the teenagers will maybe want to use skateboards, many smaller kids will choose to try the snow on toboggans, but, in general, skiing easily dominates winter sports, as well as tourists are concerned.
And what a fantastic sport it is! The anticipation when you go up the slope on the ski lift chair, the breathtaking view while climbing, waiting to get on top just like the thunder waits in the clouds...
and then, when you're finally "ready to rock", you take one last look at the mountain peaks surrounding you, and off you go! You speedily go down the white slope, with nothing else to think of than yourself, the mountain and the snow you cut with your skis.
Yes, this is a fantastic sport, and it's especially great when you practice it in the best conditions.
And, even if it seems strange, not all places offer the best conditions for ski lovers.
But I want to tell you about Tyrol, a state in Austria which is teaming with ski resorts that excel at this aspect, offering everything a tourist wants or needs in order to feel good while on his/her ski vacation.
This part of Austria is especially attractive to skiers because of this reason, but this wouldn't be enough if there weren't the incredible Alps rising proud and tall (and white!) above the small and picturesque towns and cities.
The Alps are at the top in many skiers' preferences, because they are indeed wonderful displays of the power of nature.
With peaks well above 3500 meters and great glaciers that keep their snow all year long, these mountains are a skier's heaven.
There are many 5 star hotels and resorts in the Austrian Alps, particularly in the state of Tyrol, and, to be even more precise, around the town of Kitzbuhel, which is 75 kilometers east of the big city of Innsbruck.
It is in this location that "high society skiers" choose to come, because the resorts and the three-line ski slopes are fantastic, with great services, excellent facilities (spa, indoor pools etc).
In the summer, these ski resorts turn into cool golf resorts, which is another attraction for business men and other rich people.
However, you will be surprised to find out that prices are quite moderate in this region, especially if someone books several months before his/her holiday.
Hundreds of thousands of skiers go there every year, and they all get back home with a wide smile on their face.
They can't wait to go back there, and most of them do return the next year, as skiing is a sport that can sometimes become addictive.
And it gets even more addictive if the best conditions are provided for everyone, and everyone enjoys their stay to the maximum.
