- 1). Use your wire cutters to cut the plug off of the non-functional pair of earbuds.
- 2). Use the stripper portion of your wire cutters to strip about a half inch of sheath off of the end of the cable where you just removed the plug.
- 3). Cut a working plug off of another set of earbuds. Leave about an inch of cable attached to the plug.
- 4). Use the stripper portion of the wires to strip about a half inch off of the cable connected to the working plug.
- 5). Use your soldering iron to solder the wires from the non-functional earbuds to the wires on the functional plug. Allow the solder to dry.
- 6). Wrap electrical tape around the exposed wiring.
- 7). Pop the covers off of the non-functional left and right earbud speakers to expose the speakers and wiring. Use your soldering iron to loosen the wires from the terminals they are connected to in the earbud and remove the speakers and wiring.
- 8). Pop the covers off of a working pair of earbud speakers and use the soldering iron to remove the speakers and wiring.
- 9). Use the soldering iron to attach the speakers to the left and right terminals in the earbuds. Allow the solder to dry and the wires to set before putting the covers back on the speakers.
