- Inspect the pool for loss of water depth. Loss of water depth in an above-ground swimming pool indicates a leak. Find and inspect the size and location of the leak. If the leak is narrow and easily accessible, use a pool liner patch kit to cover the leak. Allow the adhesive on the patched spot to dry. Refill the pool with water and evaluate for leaks.
- Check the pool liner for mold and mildew. Clean mild amounts of mold and mildew from the liner by hanging the liner over a clothesline without using clothespins. Mix a solution of three parts water and one part chlorine bleach. Spray the solution over the mold and mildew spots. Scrub the liner with a soft sponge. Rinse away with a garden hose on medium power. Dry the pool liner for one day before reassembling the swimming pool
- Install the cleaned liner. Refill the pool with water and chemicals according to the directions on the labels for each chemical. Turn on the filter and allow the chemicals to circulate according to the directions on the chemicals before allowing people to swim in the pool.
