- 1). Cut two 28-inch lengths of copper tubing. Cut two 15-inch lengths of copper tubing. Bend one end of each tube at a 90-degree angle, 3 inches from the end.
- 2). Wrap the straight end of each section of tubing around the large end of a baseball bat to form a spiral. These are the tendrils for your flower fountain as well as the supports for the flower pot tiers.
- 3). Cut a 5-foot-long section of copper pipe. Drill a 3/4-inch hole in one side of the pipe, 16 inches from one end. Make sure that the hole does not go all the way through the pipe -- just one side of the pipe.
- 4). Solder a copper end cap to the end of the copper pipe closest to the drilled hole.
- 5). Measure and mark the copper pipe 18 inches from the 16-inch hole. Measure and mark the copper pipe 15 inches from the 18-inch mark.
- 6). Solder the two longest copper tubing tendrils on either side of the copper pipe at the 18-inch mark. Thread the 12-inch diameter flower pot over the copper pipe until it rests on the tendrils.
- 7). Solder the remaining two tendrils on either side of the copper pipe at the 15-inch mark. The vertical tendrils can line up with each other, or you can offset them.
- 8). Place the 16-inch-diameter terra cotta pot on the ground where you plan to stand your fountain. Thread the end of the copper pipe with the end cap through the drainage hole in the flower pot. Press the pipe 12 inches into the ground. This will add stability to your tier fountain.
- 9). Seal around the drainage hole with plumber's putty so that the flower pot is watertight. Place the pump inside the flower pot. Attach one end of the plastic tubing to the pump and thread the other end through the drilled hole in the copper pipe. Seal around the plastic tubing with plumber's putty.
- 10
Glue the bottom of the 12-inch terra cotta pot to the copper tendrils with waterproof adhesive. Seal the drainage opening with plumber's putty. Add the 8-inch flower pot over the top of the copper pipe to rest against the top tendrils. Glue the pot to the tendrils and seal the drainage hole around the pipe. - 11
Fill each of the flower pots with water before you turn on the fountain pump.
