How to Network an IP DVR

    • 1). Access the rear of the DVR. Confirm there is an open Ethernet port on your Internet router.

    • 2). Plug an Ethernet cable into the router. Run the cable to the back of the DVR. Plug the Ethernet cable into the networking jack on the rear of the DVR.

    • 3). Turn on the television and access the input that the DVR uses. Open the setup menu on the DVR using the remote. Consult the owner's manual for specific steps in opening this menu.

    • 4). Enter the "System Setup" (or similarly labeled) submenu. Scroll down to "Network Setup." Specify that you are using a wired connection. Set the network detection to "Automatic" so the DVR can detect IP address and other relevant settings.

    • 5). Wait for a visual on-screen confirmation that the IP setup has completed successfully.
