- 1). Open your crib kit and separate the parts according to where they will be assembled. For example, your brackets and screws are designed to go specifically into the headboard or footboard. Place all the unopened bags of screws into separate, sealed plastic jugs until you need them.
- 2). Find the L and the latch brackets for the headboard. Have a helper help you during this process. Lay the headboard on the ground and hold the L bracket to the left side of the headboard. The L bracket is screwed into the pre-drilled holes toward the bottom of the crib. Screw the latch bracket in at the top.
- 3). Lay your footboard down and repeat the process in step 2 but on the right side of the footboard. The latches should face inward in order to hold the crib spring once you have placed it inside.
- 4). Insert the wooden cross dowel at the top hole of the headboard and the footboard. This should be done on the left side for the headboard and the right for the footboard. Screw them into the board from the opposite side of the board.
- 5). Open the mattress support parts and screw the metal hangers in the correct drill holes at the bottom of the crib sides. Use the shortest screws in the kit and tighten the screws and nuts with pliers. There should be four attached total, one to each end of each side.
- 6). Insert the pins on the drop side rail onto the latch brackets. Slide it down until it stops at the latch bracket. Place the springs from the kit between both ends of the drop side rail to complete the drop side rail installation. Screw each side into place from opposite ends of the headboard and footboard. Place your mattress on the bed to finish the process.
