Snow Mountain, at Stone Mountain Park, is Atlanta's destination for snowy winter adventures. With 20 lanes of tubing and acres of other winter activities, Snow Mountain offers fun for the whole family. The winter themed area is open November 22-February 18, with a daily schedule during the holidays and weekend schedule in January and February.
Avalanche Alley is Atlanta's only tubing hill. The 400-foot hill has an area that can accommodate family sized tubes and an area for single tubes. A family of five can ride together in the large tubes, or grab several friends for a trip down the mountain. Riders must be at least 36 inches tall. Riders can tube solo at the Tube Runner area. Riders must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone.
The Little Angels area is designed for children ages 3 years and under. Younger children can slide down the smaller hill in SnoBoggans. There is plenty of room to play safely away from the older kids. Adult supervision is required.
The Snow Zone has acres of snowy activities for everyone to enjoy. Build the perfect snowman at Snow Valley. Hats, scarves, and other essentials for a well-dressed snowman are available in the snow closet. Fort Snow has towers, slides, and tunnels to explore. Stop in at Igloo City to build a snow fort, dig a tunnel, or create your own snow structures. Test your aim at the Snowball Shooting Gallery, where the targets spin, turn, and flip.
The SnoDeck provides a place to take a break from the winter action and enjoy snacks and beverages. SnoFire Point is the perfect place for the family to warm up by the bonfire and roast some marshmallows or make S'mores. Both are located in the Memorial Lawn area. The Hat and Glove Cart sells a selection of winter accessories.
The Snow Mountain Pass is $27 for adults and children. It includes a 2-hour tubing session and all day access to the other snow play areas. Advance reservation times are required for the tubing hill. Tubes are provided. During December a combination Snow Mountain and Christmas Family Value Pass is available for $45 per person. There is a $10 parking fee at Stone Mountain Park. Some of the other park attractions that are open during the winter include the Summit Skyride, the hiking trail to the top of the mountain, and the Stone Mountain Museum at Memorial Hall. Stone Mountain Park is located on US Hwy 78, 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta.
