- 1). Confirm that all temperature controls on the Char-Broil gas grill are turned to the "off" position.
- 2). Connect a propane tank to the grill. Find the grill's regulator, which dangles from the grill. The regulator is circular with an end designed to screw into the propane tank. Attach the regulator, which controls the flow of propane, to the grill.
Char-Broil recommends buying a propane tank that is 80 percent full; purchasing a propane tank from a propane dealer will help you confirm that the tank is 80 percent full. - 3). Turn the propane tank's release valve by turning the knob at the top of the tank counterclockwise. Doing so releases propane to the regulator.
- 4). Turn the temperature knobs on the Char-Broil grill to a medium setting. You should hear the sound of propane rushing to the grill's burners.
- 5). Press the igniter button on the grill's front control panel to create a spark and produce flames. Press the button two or three times if necessary.
- 6). Turn the grill's temperature control knobs to the "off" position if the grill fails to light. Turn the temperature controls to a medium setting, and drop a lighted match into the grill to ignite the fuel and produce flames.
- 1). Place charcoal briquettes in a Char-Broil charcoal grill. Stack the briquettes in the shape of a pyramid.
- 2). Pour charcoal lighter fluid on the briquettes, and wait 15 minutes
- 3). Strike a match to ignite the lighter fluid on the briquettes. Level the briquettes as they begin to turn white.
