How to Use Nectarines

    • 1). Use cooked nectarines with sweet pastries or anywhere you would use peaches or other stone fruit, including pies, crostatas, tarts, cobblers, crumbles, strudels and poached fruit.

    • 2). Serve nectarines raw and fresh in fruit salads, blended smoothies, green salads, dressings and in alcoholic drinks such as margaritas, daiquiris and white wine or red sangria.

    • 3). Include nectarines in savory cooking, including meat stews, halved nectarines grilled on the barbecue as an accompaniment to grilled meats, and as a brightening flavor in pan sauces.

    • 4). Preserve nectarines in jellies, jams or pure fruit preserves. You can also cut, package and freeze fresh nectarine halves or slices for near-term or out-of-season use.

    • 5). Display the stunningly colored and scented nectarines as a harbinger of summer in a beautiful silver bowl, china bowl or basket in lieu of flowers on a table or sideboard.
