- 1). Situate your solar panel in a location with plenty of direct sunlight. The length of time it takes to charge your batteries will vary depending on the size and quality of your solar panel, but all solar panels charge more quickly when placed in a sunny location.
- 2). Insert your batteries into the charger unit, if you are charging individual batteries. If you are charging a device such as a cell phone, laptop or mp3 player, connect it to the charger unit using the appropriate cable.
- 3). If you are charging an electrical device such as a cell phone or laptop, check your device's battery power status to determine the level of charge. If you are charging batteries, your charger may include a display that shows the charge level. Otherwise, refer to the instructions for your charging unit to determine the minimum and maximum time limits for charging batteries.
- 4). Disconnect your device from the charging cable, or remove the batteries from the charger unit.
