- 1). Get a voter access card at your precinct. When you arrive at your polling place on election day, a poll worker will confirm your voter registration and give you a voter access card that lets you use an electronic voting machine.
- 2). Insert the card into the machine's card-reader. The touch screen will display instructions. Once you have read them, display the actual ballot by touching the "Next" button on the screen.
- 3). Touch the "Write-In" box for the race in which you want to vote for a write-in candidate. This will bring up an on-screen keyboard you can use to type your candidate's name. You can correct any mistakes using the on-screen "Backspace" key, and you can also choose not to write in a candidate by hitting "Cancel." Hitting the "Record Write-In" button on the touch screen will record your vote for that race.
- 4). Finish voting in any other races. When you have chosen candidates in all available races, a summary screen will appear. Touch the "Cast Ballot" button on the summary screen to record your vote.
