How to Install a Queen Size Bed

    Instructions

    • 1). Set up the headboard. Assemble the headboard if it was not assembled in advance. Take the headboard and place it against the wall of your choice. Most people place the headboard against the middle of the wall. Measure from the corner to the edge of the headboard to make sure width is even on both sides.

    • 2). Install the bed frame. Be sure you have a frame fit for a queen-size bed. Assemble the bed frame if necessary. Lay bed frame close to headboard.

    • 3). Attach bed frame to headboard. If screws are required, use a screwdriver to attach the bed frame at the bottom of headboard. Drilling may be required to make holes big enough for screws to fit in. Use a wrench if nuts and bolts are required for attachment.

    • 4). Lay box spring on bed frame. Grab the box spring and gently lay it on bed frame. Make sure box spring is on the right side. Unless completely covered the wood (or other material) should be facing the floor.

    • 5). Lay mattress on box spring. Grab mattress and place on box spring. Make sure mattress and box spring are aligned evenly so as no overlap occurs.

    • 6). Avoid gaps between box spring/mattress and headboard. Push in box spring and mattress close to headboard if necessary. Having a gap between the box spring/mattress and headboard can mean that either the frame is too big or that the box spring and mattress aren't securely inside the bed frame. You want to remove that gap so that you don't have items fall in the gap when sleeping on your bed.

    • 7). Cover mattress with protective mattress pad. Mattress pad will be tight-fitted around the mattress. Do not yank mattress pad as it can cause ripping.

    • 8). Add bedding set and pillows. Bedding set should include fitted sheet, cover, comforter and pillow cases. Place the fitted sheet on top of the mattress pad. Make sure to tuck in the corners. Add the cover on top of the mattress pad. Add comforter on top of cover. Place pillows at head of the bed next to the headboard.
