How to Increase Your Hemoglobin

    • 1). Eat foods high in iron and take iron supplements along with vitamin B-12. Foods such as liver, eggs, green vegetables and beans contain high amounts of iron and B-12. Eating foods high in iron and B-12 will raise your hemoglobin levels.

    • 2). Eats foods high in Vitamin C or take Vitamin C supplements. Vitamin C helps your body better absorb iron rich foods, in turn raising your hemoglobin count. Examples of foods high in vitamin C include broccoli, peppers, kiwis, strawberries, and oranges.

    • 3). Drink infusions of natural herbs such as yellow duck root, carao, blackstrap molasses, nettle and liquid chlorophyll which can aid in raising your hemoglobin levels.

    • 4). Avoid iron blockers: foods high in fiber, calcium and caffeine. These iron blocking factors affect your body's ability to absorb iron, and thus your ability to raise your hemoglobin levels.
