During this time of year, many people suffer from dry skin, which often leads to cracked heels. Cracked heels can be very annoying to deal with and can be hard to get rid of. Cracked heels are very common this time of year, and if you don't do something to take care of your cracked heels, then they can lead to a very painful foot problem.
There are many ways to cure your cracked heels and dry feet or even prevent them before cracked heels occur.
Let's first focus on preventing cracked heels and dry skin on your feet. A great way to prevent cracked heels is to first prevent dry skin by always using lotion and keeping your feet hydrated. Another very easy way to prevent cracked heels is to wear shoes. When you wear shoes, your feet don't get exposed to harsh elements and thus have a less likely chance of drying out and turning into cracked heels.
If you are already dealing with a cracked heels problem, then don't worry because if your cracked heels aren't too severe, then there are easy ways to treat them without visiting a dr. The first way is to use a pumice stone in the shower to scrub the dead dry skin off of your cracked heels and feet. If you commit to using a pumice stone every time you shower, you should see a dramatic improvement in your cracked heels.
The second suggestion to curing your cracked heels is meant to be used in addition to the first method of curing cracked heels. This is to use a thick moisturizing foot cream after using a pumice stone on your cracked heels.
Suppose your case of cracked heels is more severe and using a pumice stone and thick moisturizing lotion don't help your cracked heel problem. Then here is what you should try:
First, put some shaving cream on your feet and cracked heels. After you have done this, prepare equal parts warm water and Listerine mouth wash in a container big enough to soak a small hand towel in. After the hand towel has soaked in the mouth wash water mixture, and while your cracked heels and feet are covered in shaving cream, wrap the soaked towel around your feet and let that sit for about thirty minutes. After the appropriate time has passed, use the hand towel to scrub your cracked heels and dry skin on your feet. Don't be alarmed, but some of the dry skin and cracked heel skin will rub off. After your feet are clean and dry, rub a good moisturizing lotion into your cracked heels and feet. Repeat this process only once a week, as it does take skin off of your feet and cracked heels.
Remember to treat your feet nicely if you don't want to deal with cracked heels year round. Good luck and I hope you can find relief for your dry crack heels and feet.
