Some quite excellent justifications to maintain a property professional check-list

Why is it that we frequently wait until we are in face of a crisis or a disastrous situation before we anxiously begin telephoning around for recommendations, searching for the most effective supplier to assist? We recently moved into a new home and encountered a couple of difficulties and I am certain that these examples will illustrate my point by particularly discussing a plumbing engineer, painter, locksmith, electrician and an alarm system repair man!

Just before we moved in to the house we noticed that there was some water damage on the ceilings and decided to have the roofing correctly sealed prior to moving all of our important assets into the house. We've never been property owners and have thus not needed the help of a contractor or waterproofing specialist before and we merely made use of the first person referred to us. About a week after we moved in there was a tropical thunderstorm and 5 of our ten recently painted ceilings were soon dripping with water! If we'd taken some time to check recommendations and referrals and compare providers, this may have been avoided.

We also realized that the burglar alarm system in the home was faulty. We replaced the battery, gave it some time to recharge and hoped for the best. Regretably, the system remained totally lifeless. Then I grabbed the yellow pages, did a fast search for "alarm repair guy" and a day later a young technician arrived, simply to inform us that he wasn't familiar with the particular security alarm model therefore we needed to contact another individual. That might have been acceptable if he didn't cost us a call out fee just to come reveal that bit of useless information with us!

Next on the list is our electrician. The electric motor at our drive way entrance just quit operating one day. We found the number of a local electrical installer in our community paper and he quickly arrived with a shiny brand new tool kit along with a huge grin. He literally needed to plug in just one loose wire that took him approximately twelve seconds, and then offered us an invoice for an hour's work, as that is apparently his minimum fee.

The sole 2 providers that we had absolutely no problems with, was a locksmith professional and a plumbing engineer. As the previous owners of the property disappeared with a few of the home keys, we decided to have all the locks changed for security purposes. The locksmith professional was well-mannered as well as competent and even provided us an additional set of keys at no extra cost, while the plumber swiftly fixed our leaking loo and left the restroom cleaner than what he found it!

There is only one point that I want to illustrate via this post and that's that you can't wait until you're in trouble prior to deciding to anxiously begin your search for a locksmith, electrician or local plumber. Be sure that you possess an emergency contact checklist prepared by speaking to pals, fellow workers and family members. Individual to individual is in my estimation still the best way of discovering service specialists!
