How to Save the Planet by Recycling

Planet earth is becoming a world of contradiction.
Where there is a constant boom in industrialization and manufacturing, there is a rising number of people waving the green flag for industries to follow environment friendly steps and measures.
This mission to save the planet has now taken a global status.
Not only individuals, but also organizations are now working toward a greener lifestyle.
Modular homes manufacturers are now providing a complete solution for eco-friendly living.
But, the effort of a few modular home manufacturers or a few thoughtful individuals is not enough to heal the planet from the extensive injury that has been done over the years.
Environment protecting agencies and organization encourage people to reduce, reuse and recycle to help this cause.
Recycling is one the major component in this cause.
It is about processing the used materials in again usable materials.
Recycling reduces the amount of useful material going into waste.
It also reduces energy consumption, consumption of raw and fresh resources, and reduces the environmental pollution caused by landfills.
Nowadays, in countries like the US and UK, governments and other agencies are working together to promote recycling among the public.
Many organizations pay a certain amount of money in return for recyclable products.
However, there are a few products which are more recyclable than others because of their productivity and usage.
Let us take a look at such products.
Paper/Packaging According to a survey, paper makes up for more than 40% of the average household waste.
A lot of this paper comes from newspapers, magazines and packaging.
Recycling paper requires 70% less energy than consumed in making virgin product.
Aluminum Following the increasing consumption of canned food and drinks, it is obvious that aluminum makes up for a big part of domestic waste.
Recycling aluminum cans also be extremely energy efficient as it requires only five percent of the energy required in a single mining process.
Also, the greenhouse gases emission is very much reduced.
Glass Glass products are generally easy to reuse and people prefer to use them for some other purpose rather than throwing them or recycling them.
However, glass recycling is extremely energy efficient and eco-friendly.
It is said that glass is a 100% recyclable product and can be recycled infinitely.
Generally, proper recycling requires separating brown, green and clear glass.
Plastic As much as this material is used in everyday life, it is harder to recycle and has numerous environmental issues.
According to an environmental research organization, only ten percent of the total plastic used is recyclable.
However, the recycled plastic requires fewer resources in production and emits lesser anti-ozone fumes.
The recycled product is usually of low and weaker quality and it is only recyclable once.
Batteries The lead-acid batteries were always considered as a non-recyclable item.
For this reason, they spent years taking up space in the landfills.
However, The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation says that anything that is rechargeable is recyclable.
Not all the batteries are recyclable, but almost 90 % of them are.
