As much as there is a lot of concern over how safe it is to have private military contractors (PMCs) doing missions for the United States, there are quite a few reasons that they are the right soldiers to call in.
When times get tough, having these elite soldiers who are trained an excruciating amount can definitely ensure that the battle that is most important is not lost.
This is imperative when things get rough in different parts of Afghanistan and Iraq.
The following points are the top reasons why PMCs are a great idea: · First and foremost, they are the elite of the elite.
To be hired for a job as a PMC, chances are, you were Special Forces before you retired from the military.
Now you are an elite soldier who knows how to kill, but don't have a job.
Being a PMC is a great move and because of this, those that hire the PMCs know that they are getting the most qualified soldiers.
· There is less bureaucracy involved.
If the command comes to the PMC, they know what to do and they get it done.
There's less of the "tell the officer below me to tell his officers to tell their officers...
" The PMC is given the order and they can go in.
There's less worry of having to wait for the order to get from top to bottom.
· Because it is a business, they do what is necessary to get a job done.
There is profit to be made and when this is the case, people are sometimes more willing to do more dangerous jobs.
More importantly, because there is money involved, only the best are hired which leads back to the first point.
The elite are given the jobs and therefore, the job is definitely going to get done.
· It is often times cheaper to hire these PMCs than to deploy soldiers.
These PMCs work best in small units and get the job done better than a larger unit of soldiers.
Because of their elite training, a single unit of these can do the same damage as three or four times the number of soldiers that might otherwise be deployed.
So, the cost is also a lot better for the military.
These are just four reasons why having a unit of PMCs is definitely a great thing.
There are obviously concerns about it, but if they are used properly, they can actually do a great amount of good for the United States military and ensure that less lives are lost since they are so elite in comparison to the average foot soldier.
It is important, though, that there are rules in place to ensure they don't do anything heinous.
