25 Days of Christmas 2006 - Day 22

Tonight is the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Will you be watching on TV?

Add a little holiday cheer to your day with the 25 Days of Christmas. Each day will feature a Bible verse, a special holiday Carol, the holiday TV schedule for the day, a musical gift idea, a recipe to try, and something extra as well.
Merry Christmas!

Bible Verse of the Day

  • Revelation 18:11-13 (Today's New International Version)
11 "The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore? 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves.

Some might think this a strange Bible verse for the Christmas season, but I think this is the perfect time to be reminded that all of the fine "stuff" in life (like the beautiful gifts that we'll be giving and receiving in the next couple of days), aren't going to be important in the end. Don't put more value on things than you should.

    • Cracking Da Vinci's Code - James L. Garlow and Peter Jones
Cracking Da Vinci?s Code spends 10 chapters covering issues that range from sex to women and the "Sacred Feminine" to history and symbols. While the authors go fairly deep into their discussions, they never talk "over your head" or get dry and boring, almost putting you to sleep. The points that they make are quite thought provoking and can lead to some very interesting discussions.
