- 1). Cover the stain with a layer of cat litter. The cat litter acts as an absorption material and absorbs a large amount of the tree sap. It also acts to reduce the stickiness associated with the tree sap, which helps you clean it up better. Remove and discard the cat litter.
- 2). Add 1 cup of tri-sodium phosphate into a gallon of water and mix together well. Pour the mixture onto the tree sap and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. Use a scrub brush to rub the mixture onto the concrete. Then rinse off the area.
- 3). Dilute 1 cup of bleach with 1 to 2 cups of water in a large bowl. Pour the mixture on the stain and let it sit for a minimum of 10 minutes. Use your scrub brush to carefully rub the mixture into the tree sap and then rinse it off. The bleach removes much of the sap.
- 4). Pour dry dish washing detergent or laundry detergent onto the surface where you can still see the stain. Add a small amount of hot water to the area and once again use a scrub brush on the concrete. This helps pull up any additional tree sap that's still on the concrete.
- 5). Rinse off the area as thoroughly as possible using hot water. Look at the area carefully to ensure that the stain is completely gone. If there's any sap left behind, run through the steps again.
