- The best way to slough off dry skin with a pumice stone is to first soak your feet in warm water for about 10 minutes. This process softens the skin. Next, remove dry skin cells by scrubbing your feet with a pumice stone. The last and most important step is to apply moisturizer or lotion to your feet. If you want to retain the moisture at night, put socks on your feet right before going to bed.
- Bananas can be used for more than just baked goods and smoothies. Mix two bananas in a blender until they form a paste. Apply the banana concoction on freshly washed heels. After leaving it on for about 10 minutes, wash the paste off with lukewarm water. The best results can be seen if this process is done once a week.
- Hydrogenized vegetable oil can be used to cure dry feet and cracked heels. After washing and drying your feet, apply hydrogenized oil on your cracked feet and cover them with thick socks overnight. This process allows the oil to penetrate the skin and get rid of dead skin cells. Do this at least three times a week.
- The combination of petroleum jelly and lemon juice is another home remedy for dry and cracked feet. After washing your feet, apply a petroleum jelly like Vaseline and lemon juice. This can be done daily.
