How to Plant American Hazelnut Trees

    • 1). Choose a part-shade to full-sun location in the yard.

    • 2). Dig a hole about twice the size of the root ball of the plant. Fill the hole with water.

    • 3). Mix in fruit tree fertilizer. Place the tree into the hole and cover with dirt.

    • 4). Mulch tree heavily. Water frequently. Prune the tree as it grows to desired shaping.
