How to Get Rid of Ants in My Garden

    • 1). Spray pesticides over your plants. Choose a pesticide that is specifically designed to kill ants. Since pesticides are toxic, opt for a natural treatment if you have young children or pets that reside in your garden.

    • 2). Pour borax, also known as hydrated sodium borate, into small containers and place them throughout your garden. Ants will eat this natural mixture and it will kill them. To attract the ants to the borax, mix it with sugar.

    • 3). Create a mixture with three parts vinegar and one part water. Spray the solution around the perimeter of your garden. The acidity of the vinegar will repel ants.

    • 4). Sprinkle cornmeal throughout your garden. Ants are unable to digest cornmeal. Once they eat it, they will die.

    • 5). Spread black pepper around your garden. Ants will not cross pepper, so try to sprinkle it across ants' trails.

    • 6). Distribute baby powder throughout your garden. Ants dislike its smell, so they will stay away from it.
